A name that embodies the British rock tradition, Stereophonics have won over audiences with their unique blend of Brit rock, evocative lyrics and powerful sound. Formed in 1992 in Cwmaman, Wales, the original trio of Kelly Jones (vocals and guitar), Richard Jones (bass) and Stuart Cable (drums) have created one of the UK’s longest-running and most beloved bands. Since Cable’s passing in 2010, the lineup has evolved, maintaining its essence and authentic spirit.
Their debut “Word Gets Around” (1997) immediately caught the attention thanks to hits like “Local Boy in the Photograph”, marking the beginning of an extraordinary journey. With “Performance and Cocktails” (1999) they exploded on a global scale, thanks to iconic songs like “The Bartender and the Thief” and “Just Looking”. Their success continued with award-winning albums like “Just Enough Education to Perform” (2001), which contains “Have a Nice Day” and “Mr. Writer”, and “You Gotta Go There to Come Back” (2003), confirming their ability to mix rock energy and profound lyrics.
Over the years, the band has constantly reinvented their sound without ever losing their identity, experimenting with alternative and soul-rock influences on works such as “Keep the Village Alive” (2015) and “Kind” (2019). Their longevity is a testament to the unique connection they have been able to establish with audiences, capable of filling stadiums and festivals all over the world.
In 2025 they return with “Make ‘em Laugh, Make ‘em Cry, Make ‘em Wait”, an album that celebrates their musical legacy and looks to the future with a refined sound and lyrics full of emotion and introspection. With over three decades of career behind them and an inexhaustible passion for music, they continue to be one of the most influential and respected bands in the British rock scene.
